Jon Bellona, of Run for the Fallen, is leading a relay run across America, dedicating each mile to one of the over 4,000 fallen soldiers from the Iraq war. Bellona was inspired by the death of his college friend, Mike Cleary, who was killed December 20, 2005. Mike Cleary was only 24.

Phi Slamma Jamma was the nickname given to the University of Houston players from 1982 to 1984. Coached by the legendary Guy V. Lewis, they were especially known for their slam dunking skills and getting the ball to the basket in a hurry. The name was coined by Tommy Bonk, a writer for the Houston Post newspaper.
